Kim Cheah is excited to be in her third year at the International School Manila. Hailing from Malaysia, she left her homeland to attend Colby College in Maine, USA where she earned her BA in International Studies. She also holds her MA in Higher Education from the University of Maine. Kim started her career as an analyst in New York City, but after a three-year stint, has been in the education field for the last fifteen years, working in high schools and college campuses. Most recently, she served as the Associate Dean of Students at Yale-NUS College in Singapore, and prior to that as one of the guidance counselors at the International School of Kuala Lumpur. Kim has worked in college Admissions departments and with the Dean of Students, where she has also enjoyed advising student organizations, coaching racket sports and leading student leadership workshops. At the high school level, Kim has worked with the Development Office and served as a college counselor and thrives in such living-learning communities. Kim is in Manila with Erik (who teaches MS PE), their toddler Steffi in Pre-K 4 and rambunctious dog, Roxie. Kim admits that she is a rackets and outdoor activities junkie and enjoys scaling mountains in Colorado during the summer break.
